Gabriel Cousens Dialogues with Marc Gafni

Gabriel Cousens and Marc Gafni are co-founding a Liberation School rooted in the liberation principles of all the great traditions as specifically expressed in the form, content, and context of ancient and modern classical Hebrew wisdom.

These dialogues, which took place in December 2007 and January 2008, map out the beginnings of Marc Gafni and Gabriel Cousens’ intention and understanding when they talk about liberation. The second dialogue also contains a discussion about what might be the best possible model for relationship between teacher and student.

The Liberation School will in many ways be a continuation of the work Marc Gafni began in Israel in developing what he called Integral Holistic Ordination. There will be a specific focus on understanding Liberation Halachot bound by the Jewish ethos of obligation, the law as love and the law as obligation being experienced as one; {Chovah and Chibah, obligation and love being the same word in Hebrew language and consciousness}; and yet free of what the Rebbe of Izbica called the false “Idolatries of the Law”.

When Will we Meet Dates Dates Dates Dates:

The Liberation School in its initial phase plans to meet twice a year – the last week of December and the first week of August. The first meeting will, God willing, take place at Gabriel’s Retreat Center -Tree of Life — south of Tuscon, Arizona in the last week of December 2008.
